We purchased 2 years ago and used 1 time before it stopped working. I contacted Kitchen Aid and because it was beyond a year they could do nothing except offer me a 20% discount on a new unit? Seriously, why would I want to buy another one of these. They don't even sell parts for repair. JUNK! I was a huge Kitchen Aid fan.....

This is my first & last food processor I'm ever going to purchase. At least that's what I thought when I originally purchased this approximately three years ago. After spending a small fortune to purchase my "forever"machine, it's now ready for the garbage. Such a shame! Over the past three years, I've experienced the drive adapter locking up/melting. My husband had to get his tool set out to rip it off two different times. The third time it melted on & Kitchen aid did send me a replacement. Also, kitchen aid sent me an entirely new chopping kit because their was an issue with that too. The food build up was so gross between the handle & the bowl I took it apart. When I did, a bunch of parts fell out & now we can't figure out how to put it back. I used this machine three times a week especially for cheese (I gave up on using the chopper because it kept locking up). This was not a good value!

This food processor is EXCELLENT when it comes to blending different types of foods, but I am ABSOLUTELY MESMERIZED at how well it slices and shreds your vegetables! And it's so fast! This machine is marvelous! Sturdy, holds more than enough food, and processes like a dream. This processor saved me a lot of time when canning; I can just throw the peeled or unpeeled ones in, press 'grind.'

I received this product as a gift and was excited to use it. It worked great for the first 10-12 times I used it, which is only a few times a year. Then one day I pushed the button and nothing, absolutely nothing. For some reason I put it away and imagined the next time it would work, like magic. It didn't. I thought I'd find someone to repair it but that didn't work either. I went on line looking for a service center - nothing for blenders. It looks like new (and it mostly is) but after years of wishing the little elves would fix it while I slept, it is going in the trash. Very disappointing.

I can and pickle a lot. It was so easy to change the thickness of the slices . They were uniform and the wider feed was perfect. My work was done in a very short time.

After many days of reviewing food processors I decided on this KitchenAid 11 cup food processor with exact slice.
The features are good and the motor volume which is very low are excellent.
But the design unfortunately is by an engineer that has never had to wash dishes. There are so many nooks and crannies in this device that food gets caught everywhere. It's a pain to clean. Previous, and competitor model's I've had, are just rinse and dry and they're finished. Not the case with this one. Do you actually have to use a toothpick, or small knife, or something with a pointed end in order to pick the food out of areas on the slicing blade, the shredding blades, or in the plunger.
And the small mixing bowl, while a good idea, doesn't function very well. The food gets tossed around and sometimes falls outside of the bowl or down where the driveshaft is. More stuff to have to clean.
I am an ex-chef and very handy with a kitchen knife. But now in my retirement years I simply cook for two at home. I use this device mostly for shredding cheese and shredding cabbage. Unfortunately with the cleanup time involved I can actually do it faster by hand than I can with this machine and that defeats its purpose.

I got this machine a few months ago and lately noticed dirt in nooks and crannies of the machine. I unscrewed the handle to clean it and the mechanism came apart. Please can you post a picture of the mechanism to help me reassemble the handle. I have looked everywhere online.

I purchased my product 3 years ago and have reached out to company for a Manuel or dvd. NO ONE ever reached out to me!! I purchased mine with lots of "great" accessories that I've never been able to use. I got it to assist with my cooking well my circle of friends have never used one either.
So disappointed!

J'ai acheté ce produit il y a quelques années. Je l'ai utilisé maximum 6 x. La dernière fois, l'appareil ne fonctionnait plus. J'ai tenté de rejoindre le service à la clientèle et de contacter des réparateurs et il semblerait que ce modèle ne se répare tout simplement pas. Il est maintenant clair pour moi que je n'achèterai plus jamais des produits KitchenAid.

I bought this several years ago. It does everything I want it to but cleaning it is not good. Bacteria builds up in the handle and looks nasty. Since It does not come in contact with the actual food I continue to use it without a problem. Just wish nothing could get inside the handle area.

I bought this a few years ago. I agree with other posters, it is a bad design. A messy design. I don't like how the bowl is designed. Makes it hard to get food out without making a mess. I bought it because of KitchenAids reputation and it was dishwasher safe. Well sort of, the cover gets moisture and food in it and it does not dry out. It's pretty gross, so gross I don't like using it. There is no way to take it apart and clean it either.

I bought this product after borrowing the same from a friend which I found excellent. Since receiving my food process, my opinion has dramatically changed. This food processor is the most frustrating kitchen appliance I own. It does not lock sechurely into the locked position. It rarely turns on or if it does start working, it will often quit mid way through a recipe!
I wish I loved this product, and Im sure I would if i was not constantly trying to trouble shoot to get it to work.

I bought this because KitchenAid used to be a good brand. I agree with everyone else, cheese is hard to shred in it because it gets stuck on top of the blade. Also, my small bowl is ruined, because the blade is scratching the bowl. I even doubled checked to make sure it was put together right. Plastic in my food is not a good thing. I hardly ever use it because it's a lot of cleaning. My salad shooter is a lot easier for cheese.

I bought this to replace one I had for 20 years and it's not the quality of the old. It's so light I can't see this one lasting 20 years. Buttons are hard to push, also. Must be made in China or somewhere else. Very disappointed.

I replaced my Cuisinart that I had for years with this food processor hoping for improvement, NOT. I have found that when shredding cheese or even cabbage the food catches in the slots (in chunks) in the cover. If I hadn't given my Cuisinart away I would be using it for shredding, however I do like the adjustable blade and other features in my kitchenaid.
