I love this toaster

This toaster is elegant and functional, it matches my mixer and blender which I have had for years. I read reviews talking about plastic caps being left inside and plastic smell. The plastic that is inside is heat resistant and is there as a slide to make sure the bread lowers smoothly (rather than metal against metal). I did have a smell the very first time I used the toaster which has always been my experience with new appliances that generate heat, the first use is a burn-in so don't put bread in it the first time. I love the way this toaster beeps rather than just shooting out toast, how I can check the toast without stopping the toasting cycle, and how it will keep toast warm while I am getting my coffee. My only criticism would be that this toaster has to be facing you from the widest side so it takes up more room on the counter than it would if the controls were on the narrow side.

I bought this over a month ago and am very pleased with how it works and that it's the nicest looking toaster I've ever owned. It is consistent with everything I toast, but be sure to use less time with dryer breads. It is very easy to burn dryer bread types so use setting 2 versus 4 accordingly. Pay attention and make some mental notes with your favorite breads.

Disappointing

This toaster is a disappointment. At level 2, it's too light. At level 3, it's too dark. If you set it at level 2, your first 2 pieces toasted will be too light, but the ones following it will be darker. This toaster's temperature control is terrible. I never had these troubles with my last toaster -- wish I'd kept it. I paid a premium for a Kitchen Aid toaster and probably would have been more satisfied with what I would consider a cheapie brand.

.......I bought this model only in the silver colour. Great looking toaster but at $109.99 a bit pricey. The instruction pamphlet that came with the toaster says it had 9 different darkness settings to it but when I used it I found it only came out the same every time, no variant to it at all. Medium darkness, period. I took it back to Lowes where I purchased it and exchanged it for another (thinking the original had a flaw with it). Once at home I tried it again, same results with hardly 2 different settings let alone 9. Now I really feel it's too expensive for what it does. Disappointed with the product.

This Toaster is quick and efficient. The toast comes out perfect every time. Love the features and I am sure you will too. The "check doneness" feature is great to readjust longer pieces of bread that you don't want to cut into 2 pieces. you just lift the lever and readjust!! QUICKNESS is a definite plus as well!!!
