I chose this toaster because I liked the slimmer footprint. I like my toast on the browner side but cannot get this toaster to toast evenly. I always get one side of the crust burnt. I have to pop the toast 1/2 way through and turn them 180 degrees to try to get more even toasting.

I bought this only 2 weeks ago and I am very disappointed-I sold WP and KA products for 41 yrs and my old Ka toaster worked great-I do primarily English muffins and they don't get done as well as the old toaster got them-the extra brown feature did not seem to do much.Also the muffins don't come up as high with the lever and are hard to get out.-I don't really want this review published-I just feel this toaster does not meet KA performance and I feel you should know

I bought this toaster a month ago and I am so happy Idid. I make my own bread, and, with most toasters the top never gets toasted. With KitchenAid toaster they brown so nice. I can also to bagels too. I have owned KitchenAid mixer for 35 years but this was my first toaster. Greatest Toaster Ever Make.

I purchased this toaster as a replacement for my old kitchenaide 2 slice toaster. It took some getting used to once that happened I don't think I will ever have a two slot toaster again

My wife and I returned our just purchased Kitchenaid 2-Slice long slot toaster w. Highlift because it did not work at all. We have also just ordered another exact duplicate Kitchenaid toaster, review to follow. Of the 25 reviews of this toaster on the Kitchenaid site, 22 were sponsored by Kitchenaid. Of the 3 reviews not sponsored by Kitchen, two were 1 star reviews. Since Kitchenaid chooses to promote and include sponsored reviews, it should also allow potential customers doing reliability research to screen out sponsored reviews using the "Sort by" review screening tools. Very disappointing product and customer review feature.

What really drew me to this toaster initially was that it matched my matte black stand mixer , where very few of the toasters do! Our toaster was pretty old and was a cheap buy years prior so it was time for an upgrade. I read a ton of reviews to make sure I wasn't getting too many features I wouldn't need and I didn't want it to take up too much counter space since our kitchen is on the smaller side in our rental. This toaster is great bc it is pretty thin ,since the slots aren't side by side like a traditional toaster , but rather it has one long slot for both pieces of bread or longer breads ! I can have it against the wall when not in use and lose very little workable counter space , then just pull it out when I need it .. I will say, the buttons aren't 100% clear as to their function when you first get it and I found myself looking at the instructions booklet a couple times to remember which buttons meant what.... I also seemed to keep wanting to use the shade control lever as the actually up/ down lever the first couple of times I used it ,so that took some getting used to.
I love that it had a defrost feature since I'm notorious for forgetting to take spare English muffins out of the freezer the night before I need them etc , and the " keep warm" feature is also great if whatever I'm toasting is done before anything else I might be cooking.
I've seen some reviews that say it takes a few rounds in the darkest setting to get a dark toast... I can't really speak to that too much because I am fine with how things turn out when I've got it set to the medium to dark setting and I don't like super dark toast anyway. The crumb tray is removable for easy emptying and it's a simple push - in to release and then push back in to lock back in place, which is nice because there's no handle or lip sticking out or anything , adding to the sleek look. .
I definitely went after this toaster initially for the aesthetics of it , but I've been really pleased with the functionality of it as well!

This toaster is able to toast both sides of either toast or bagel evenly. Most toasters toast a bit differently on each side, however this appliance toasted evenly. Only thing that was confusing was that the selection icons vs. what was needed for regular toasting. It took a couple of tries to figure out that for regular toast you only have to pull the lever on the left down and not select one of the icons that looks like toast. The icons are only to defrost or warm up toast. Found that setting right in the middle resulted in perfect toast every time. Really liked that it was long and narrow, as I was able to place it against the counter wall and still have a lot of space to work - the appliance is very attractive and looks nice on my counter. i have been hiding away my toaster in a cupboard, only bringing it out to use, but this appliance is nice enough to leave out. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it.

I received as a trial to review. So far we have used several times for a variety of breads and it functions well, toasts nicely, easy to get breads out. I had to squint a little to read the different function labels on the toaster. It has an attractive outer appearance.

I bought this about two months ago (~OCT 2018) and it doesn't toast worth a darn. Good thing I hadn't donated my old Breville yet; have decided to keep it and donate the Kitchenaid toaster. Cool design; that's about it. Don't waste your money.

I bought this a week ago and am very disappointed. Every time I try to take the toasted bread out, it is a struggle and I burn my fingers. It is poorly designed in that the bread doesn't pop up high enough. I have never had this problem before. This is pretty basic stuff. I am thinking of returning it to the store as I am very dissatisfied, espeicial after paying $120.

The style and design of this toaster is very unique. It toasts very evenly, and with bagels it was perfect. With fresh unsliced bread, that you slice yourself, it took more than one cycle to toast it. The design is thinner than most toasters, but sticks out much further onto the counter space than most side by side toasters. But for artisan "wide or long" slices, it is a great toaster. It is also very sleek and eye appealing.

The fit and finish of this toaster are really excellent, and it does a beautiful job toasting bagels with its special bagel setting. Because of the single slot that is long and wide, you can fit large slices of round-loaf bread such as sourdough into it without a problem. Probably one of the nicest features is the "a little more" button which, if you press it, toasts your bread just a little bit more (rather than operating a full additional toasting cycle) so you can get your toast just the way you want it. Its long and narrow shape seems to take up very little counter space. Overall, very nice.

This is certainly a different toaster to me. It is very innovative on the design. I've had trouble finding a toaster that can toast longer slices of bread. You won't have to look anymore with this toaster. It has a very wide long slot. One minor complaint I would have is I usually eat bread that is big. If you stick 2 slices in there depending on the slice they may overlap. They still toasted nicely. We have put pancakes in there too reheat and they come out nice and like you just made them. I would prefer 2-4 slot toaster because of this issue. My wife and kids love it. The features are bagel, defrost, even longer toasting time, not sure who likes burnt toast, reheat and cancel. I've always liked a cancel button on my toaster. I think it toasts bagels great. Has a lever to select the darkness of your toast. We tended to be towards the higher level and it didn't burn the toast. It was a nice even toast. I like the elongated shape not a big box. I'd recommend if you toast longer toast if it doesn't fit in a regular toaster and you don't have to do more than one at a time.

Just got it 10 days ago, and have been using this everyday since. It is great size Toaster, fits really good on my counter top, does not take so much space, and since I can keep it out, I can use it everyday! it toast both sides of my bread or bagel, very modern design.

The first use, i had to let toast go around a second time but i am willing to bet because it was the very first use. After that, it has been working like a charm. Love the options for Defrost, bagel, etc. Also i like this feature were the 2 slices are all in one slot versus 2 different Slots. I was honored to write this review
