Best 4-slice artisan toaster

The heating element goes all the way across the bread surface to toast it evenly. This one replaced my old 2-slice toaster that didn't accommodate artisan bread. Now I have more versatile toasting options! Did my research before buying this one & very happy with this toaster!

I have been searching ( and purchasing) toasters for about a year now. Never satisfied, either uneven toasting, too dark no matter what setting, can't get the toast out, and so on. I know the Kitchen Aid brand as I have others in my kitchen so figured why not try it? So glad we did!!!

I bot this unit 15 months ago to replace an unusable 2-slice version of the same model. The process indicator didn't work on the smaller unit; ergo, I couldn't never tell what it was doing. Neither one of them was worth my money! Neither one of them toasted on both sides of whatever I tried to toast no matter what kind of configuration I tried to use. Maybe it'll serve whoever gets it from Goodwill (if Goodwill doesn't throw it out), 'cause it sure didn't serve me well enough to keep it or to purchase any other Kitchenaid product!

This toaster is the worst toaster I have ever owned. It toasts unevenly, toasting is difficult to control, when the toasted item "pops up", it is often not high enough to pick out of the toaster. All in all, I expected much more from KitchenAid!

Long Slots for large bread

Does Toast Justice

I bought this as we had an issue with our existing toaster. Besides the great appearance, the fact that that it has long slots with the ability to raise the toast to see the level of toasting, takes up less counterspace that the conventional four slice toasters, has the controls up front and actually makes toast the way I prefer has won me over. The sides of this toaster do not get hot which is a great feature in itself. The plus in all this is that it is a KitchenAid appliance that has a reputation for quality. Look no further if you like long slices of Texas size toast as I do.

Uneven heating and Caught on Fire

So we've had this toaster for just a year and this week It started to catch fire. The heating element is not heating up in some areas. I bought this because it matched my mixer. IM really disappointed in the quality and durability. It looks pretty but its a safety hazard.

Toast fits well

I bought this toaster around 1-2 months ago. It is a pretty appliance on the counter. It was bigger than I expected, but it holds 4 slices of toast very well. I like the lever to lift up the toast. I was really hoping to find a toaster that toasts on both sides evenly, but this one really doesn't. I read so many reviews trying to find one that would, and I had hoped this one would be it. It is nice, and I want to keep it... It just wasn't exactly what I had hoped.

Love the toaster but......

We have had this toaster for a few years and we really enjoyed it but now the defrost will not turn off unless we take it down to the reheat setting then put it back up to the desired setting we want, which is allot of trial and error depending on what type of bread you have. I have searched all over the internet to try to find an answer to no avail and toast keeps getting burned and thrown away. I can't even remember if I registered it or not. :(

I recently purchased this to replace mine of 15 years that stopped toasting. I like it, but needs some getting used to. The "dark" setting is what is needed to really show color on the bread, which seems high. Also the crumb catcher pops out all the time when moving/cleaning the toaster. Bad spot!

Second Best toaster

This is my second Kitchen Aid toaster, the first one I had about 13 years, and it died this last month, I love the feature on my new one that its dings before the toast is actually done. The down side is the control is in the middle and I think I liked it better on the end, but I am getting use to it.

You have to buy one!

I always the shorter fatter loaves of bread and they don't fit a standard toaster. This one was a gift and I fricken love it! It's a "toaster" not a "toast Burner" , it's deep and has a high lift and of course a beep right before it pops up so I can be ready with all my butter. I've always been very pleased with all of my kitchenaid products...only way to go in my mind.

Beautiful Toaster

I love my new toaster, but nearly returned it. I wasn't convinced it was working properly as my breathing wasn't toasting evenly and not all of the internal elements were glowing red. After doing some research I understood that newer technology means that not all the elements need to glow red. I also now understand that the varying levels of colour are as much to do with the bread as they are the actual toaster, as moisture and thickness both play a big part in the slices colour. I've learnt to use the take a peek function to see how it's toasting! I love that I can toast my homemade bread without flipping and turning it!
