Absolutely Useless

The KitchenAid Pro 600 Stand Mixer is probably the most regrettable purchase of my life. 500 and something dollars this thing cost, and it's absolutely useless. It doesn't reach the sides or bottom of the bowl, even after adjustment with the screw as describe in the users manual. It is impossible for an average sized male like myself to get my hands in there with a spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl, even when the bowl is lowered. I have to stop the machine, lower the bowl, remove the attachment, then unlock the bowl. At this point I can partially scrape the sides. I say partially because the mixer head is in the way. It has to be turned on for a split second to move the head. This whole ridiculous process creates a giant mess all over everything. To really get in there and scrape the sides I have to fully remove the bowl. Removing the bowl takes man strength and is an injury waiting to happen. Let's talk about the mixing. Well, it doesn't mix. I have to physically do most of the work. Anything you put in there just bunches around the center of the attachment. It sits there spinning in circles for ever and ever. This is the same with both attachments, paddle and whisk. Today I made 4 cheesecakes and two pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving. I figured I just needed to learn the machine, be patient. But no I was wrong. The KitchenAid Pro 600 Stand Mixer was the weakest link in the kitchen. I will, without question, go back to using my grandma's tiny Sunbeam from 1972.

My husband bought me this mixer for Christmas of 2017. Yes, almost 2 years ago. I was so excited for an upgrade to a powerful machine that would make my time in the kitchen easier, but much to my surprise this machine just does not make the cut. It is quite noisy. Sometimes when I turn it on it does nothing at all and I have to turn it off unplug it and turn it back on again to make it work. The bowl lift feature doesn't leave much clearance for cleaning, or adding ingredients without difficulty. My biggest complaint would be that none of the attachments reach the bottom of the bowl. Not a single one of them. I am constantly scraping in the middle of mixing so that all of my ingredients incorporate. It is an absolute hassle. I truly lament every time I have to pull this giant bulky heavy item out of my pantry to use it, because once I lug it out I know that I have to stand there and babysit it. isn't the point of having a fancy stand mixer for you to be able to walk away from it for a minute and trust that it's going to do the job? If you were looking for reliability this is not the machine for you.

I only had it just over a week before it died in the middle of making frosting. Kitchenaid was great working with me to get it replaced. But the few times I used it, it did what it was suppose to. It does seem a bit noisy tho.

I received this mixer as a wedding present. Growing up I would use my mom's (a classic). When it came time to register for the wedding I knew I wanted a KitchenAid too. This mixer is able to hold double (maybe even triple) batches of cookies. I smile every time I see it in the Kitchen. The color is beautiful and matches perfectly with my dish towels. I highly recommend the KitchenAid Professional if you enjoy baking and need to bake double batches.

I bought this mixer nearly a month ago--can't believe I didn't buy it sooner! I bake about two loaves of sourdough every day and this mixer now does nearly all the kneading for me. The color is a super cool retro aqua.

When I moved out, the biggest struggle for my mom was dealing with the loss of the kitchen appliances I had accumulated as gifts over the years. I couldn't bare the thought of leaving her without her beloved kitchenaid stand mixer, so I bought myself the newer model and left her the ones she loved and was accustomed to-neither of us are disappointed.

I had an older KitchenAid mixer that I purchased 20 years ago that I gave to a dear friend because I decided to buy a "Professional" mixer with a larger motor and bowl. An upgrade so to speak. What a mistake. The flat beater and dough hook OXIDIZE (even without putting them in the dishwasher) and the metal residue gets on your hands, towels, food and anything else that touches it. Not to mention that levels 1,2 and 3 don't work and so the motor starts on level 4 which is ridiculous. I've used this mixer a handful of times and it's definitely not worth the money spent. How this company can justify putting such unsafe attachments (google it-definitely is not a secret) in these expensive machines and get a away with it is beyond me. I tried to see if I could pay the extra money for a stainless steel flat beater so I can safely use this machine and there doesn't seem to be an option for my model. Makes perfect sense. I also looked at the KitchenAid white coated beater and that has lovely metal chips that come off in your food. Fabulous. Why cut corners KitchenAid and not just put quality attachments in your products?

I have had my new KitchenAid mixer for almost 2 months and I love it! It replaces my old KitchenAid 600 mixer (that i gave to a friend) that I had for almost 20 years! My mixer is like having an extra helper in my kitchen. It is a reliable work horse that I count on for large projects and small. And finally I love the pretty color!
