I have had my pro 600 mixer for a few years now and it is so loud I absolutely hate to use it. It has been that way from the beginning and I thought it was because it had the extra power. My friend just got one and theirs is so much quieter than mine. My husband hates when I use it because he can't hear the tv in the living room or it wakes him up if he is in the bedroom. (Small house). I use my 4.5 quart 40 year old olive green mixer whenever I can to avoid it. I bought this mixer based on the kitchen aid name and reputation when I really wanted the cuisinart mixer

Upgraded to Kitchenaid mixer after reading reviews and it's the best. Having the Lift-bowl helps with not having the noises that I had read about with the tilt-head mixer, so got his model. Tot few other attachments as well and the color compliments with the room setting. Got the juice attachment and it works really well and juices are well done from the fresh fruit or vegetables. Having versatile options to use with the mixer is the best. Planning to get the Pasta maker attachment as well to be able to start with that. The mixer is powerful enough and this model did come with 6quart bowl and helps with much larger content to make and when family visits, easy to make tortilla dough in the mixer than trying to manually mix it in

Big Red Three

This is my third pro mixer, all named Big Red. I have an at-home cottage industry business, do craft shows and a seasonal Farmer's Market. Let me tell you this mixer gets a workout and it does a fabulous, professional job. Even kneading bread dough for hours. I wouldn't use anything other than a KitchenAid.

I got this mixer to help me as I'm getting older. I find I'm not using it because it's heavy and it doesn't mix small batches well . It's also hard to get the bowl on for someone with arthritis . This is my own fault I should have got a smaller unit . But if your doing large batches like for holidays it's great . And it can save you a ton of time . I love the kitchenAide brand and they always have quality products .
