My husband bought me a 5qt KitchenAid 23 years ago that finally started to slow down this year. For my birthday, he replaced the 5qt with a 6qt...OH MAN! Love this mixer! For now, because it's new and shiny, it'll sit on my kitchen counter where I can admire it! We used our 20% discount at BB&B to get a great deal!

We have the smaller version stand mixer but were looking to upgrade. Like the larger bowl and the lift feature. I make a lot of homemade pasta so this one does the trick.

I am the owner of a small, beautiful, historic bed and breakfast, so cooking is something I do know a little about. In this business, commercial quality appliances is a must. This the perfect 6 quart stand mixer! I previously owned a 5 quart, and I loved it, but, along with being larger, this stand mixer has the moveable bowl and is more solid and consistant. The mix it affords is steady, and the speed control is predictable and well calibrated. I love the steel-gray color I chose as it is very classy and classic. And, by the way, the 5 quart is now loved and revered by a friend of mine! After 20+years, it is still like new! I know this will have the same lifespan and will be a part of my B&B kitchen for the rest of my life!

My wife's mixer, received as a wedding present 30ish years ago, wore out and began smoking while she made very stiff ginger snaps. We replaced that mixer with the Pro 600 mostly because it cost less that the lighter duty previous model. We've used it a couple of time and it was flawless. Remember to adjust the bowl up or down using the dime in the bowl test. Also, because this mixer weighs more than my wife can lift, we've moved it to the counter and freed up some under counter space.

My wife and I both love to cook, only eating out maybe once a week, so quality kitchen tools are a must for us. This mixer not only has the capacity we need, but also the power spectrum for everything from cookies to bread, all in a high quality durable machine. I would definitely recommend this to any home cooks out there. Also, I happened to get it during a mother's day sale at Bed, Bath, & Beyond so the price for me was excellent.

I originally purchased one as a bridal shower gift with no intention on getting one for myself. I have auto immune diseases and it's difficult for me to do things now. However, I was asked to make cookies for the shower, so my friend brought her identical mixer over to help. I was very impressed. I asked her if she used it for other things she said just cookies. I suggested meatloaf, meatballs, etc. as she also has the same auto immune disease as I. She never considered it but thought it was great idea.
I purchased one immediately of my own being so impressed with the performance. I also bought several attachments for it. So far, I made a meatloaf. With lupus my joints hurt all the time and it's difficult to mix it by hand. I dreaded when my husband would request it. I bought everything, attached the chopper attachment and cut up the onions etc right into the bowl in seconds. Then, I dropped all the additional ingredients in the bowl changed the attachment to the mixer with scraper on edge and within a few minutes it was totally mixed well and was by far the best, most moist meatloaf I have ever made. My husband was impressed and my hands were not aching more from trying to mix it. I have also made chocolate chip cookies and they too were very simple to mix, fast to make, all less painful for those of us with disabilities and actually turned out great for a change. I have a juicer I purchased for my Navy son but he's not home yet to try it out. I also used the 3qt bowl with the whip to whip my eggs and it was terrific. I also purchased an extra bowl and lids do that if I do decide to make Christmas cookies now that I have some help with a super mixer I can mix an extra batch and or if one batch needs refrigerated I can place a lid on the bowl put it in the refrigerator and work with the other bowl. I'm also excited to try the meat grinder attachment. I read the metal one is best. My husband love buffalo chicken dip, chicken salad etc so this can make a healthier choice by shredding my own chicken. Who knew a mixer could do this many things. This mixer has soo many possibilities, with a food processor attachment, pasta attachment, juicer attachment, oh a fantastic feature is the flour scale measuring attachment which sifts and measures your flour right into your bowl so it's totally accurate!!! There's also a peeler, for apples, potatoes etc, a hot bowl to mix chocolates cheeses etc, ice cream maker etc. the possibilities are endless. If I can recommend something it would be to get one with a metal bowl as it's light weight easier to handle, and also get one that 6 or 7 qts so you can handle any cookies recipe etc without it
overflowing. I purchased the 6qt. It's perfect.
You don't know what you're missing. It's definitely a must have for everyone's kitchen !!!
Only thing I was disappointed with was I ordered my items directly from kitchenaid.com over the telephone. I received an email confirmation with a list of items I ordered but no prices, no totals, no receipt. I searched their website trying to locate someplace I could input my order number to pull up my order but again nothing. I sent an email and was told no receipt. It would appear on my credit card. I complained and finally a rep sent me an email typed with some prices of what I had received on it but it still was not my entire order. I called to find out about other items and was told I need to track them thru fed ex but I cannot do that till they get to fed ex. So if on back order I cannot even see what items are missing when they might be shipped what the prices are nothing. In addition I used a coupon and they were on sale but with no receipt or prices now I cannot even tell if I'm being charged correctly. I've never dealt with a company like this in my life. I always have gotten a receipt upon making a purchase. So if you like receipts buy from a store not from kitchenaid direct. Very difficult to track your order and no receipt for warranty.

Got this as a gift. Love it. A bit noisy though. The power for larger recipes is outstanding. I own 2 kitchenaid mixers. The older one is 30 years old and still going strong but bogs down with larger batches.

Wish it fit under my cabinets, but I really like it so far. Only used it once to make cookies since getting it last week. Only worry is the oil on some of the parts. It is a little loud while on...had to turn it off multiple times while watching my show. What? You don't Netflix and bake???

I have always been a fan if Kitchen Aide mixers after owning my very first one for 10 years. It has a unique smooth sound about it and worked flawlessly. This new mixer is good but after exchanging 2 before this one makes me wonder about a QC factor. The sound of this mixer is not as authentic sounding like my older Pro 600 and although it is getting the job done it has me wondering if it is of the same quality.
