Built like a tank. Powerful. Quiet. Beautifully made and a joy to look at on my counter top. A massive improvement over my old KitchenAid Artisan 5 qt. I cannot imagine anything the home cook could throw at it that it wouldn't handle. Yes, it is expensive, but I believe it is worth the money and guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Wishing I was better satisfied

I purchased this a few years ago and can't say I am 100% pleased. They replaced a chipped beater but the new one chipped with the first use. The plastic doesn't stay in place and I find it does not cream on the bottom without a lot of scraping. Mechanically it is sound and seems to have lots of powe it is supposed to have metal rather than plastic parts. You shouldn't have to buy more beaters just to get your mixer to perform correctly.

So worth it!

What a beautiful and worthwhile upgrade from my 4.5 quart classic. It was 20 years old and although it continues to give me no trouble at all, I was ready for the step up in size so I could mix larger batches. And this lovely does so with ease! There's only one tiny complaint and that's the extra trouble it takes to put on and take off beaters and whisk and dough hook with the bowl on (because this is a bowl lift style vs tilt head). If you have any ingredients in the bowl, sometimes it's a struggle to get the whisk or paddle smushed down enough into the ingredients in order to connect them. I have yet to find a solution to this dance. I would buy this mixer again, despite this one design flaw. It is otherwise a dream machine and I love making friends and family all kinds of goodies with it...all at one time!

not a professional quality machine

I have had mine less than 2 years and it has failed. I feel it is factory defect. There are these 4 screws (all factory installed askew) which have ground down the rotating part of the gear assembly and the unit is now dead. Just TRY to find a service centre... waste of money.

I thought I loved my 5 quart KA mixer. I have been doing breads and pasta lately and sometimes I would work the motor pretty hard. My husband talked me into upgrading to the 7 qt with the DC motor and I couldn't be happier. It handles with ease everything I through at it. It does an even better job of kneading bread than my 5 qt did. The extra width of the bowl seems to allow the bread to be worked more thoroughly. I love the new spiral hook. If you make bread I strongly recommend getting one!

Chicken Math is a real thing. I love chickens. I started out selling the extra eggs, but soon ended up with so many that I needed a way to use them. That's when I decided to try making old German egg noodles and other kinds of pasta. Wow! That turned out to be a lot of work, mixing, rolling, cutting, all by hand. This machine allows me to make bunches of pasta in a short amount of time. It allowed me to expand my egg business into a lot of new areas, beyond what I imagined. I love my 7 quart pro-line mixer!

Broke in less than 3 years

I was making a double batch of biscotti when my mixer started grinding and died. Out of warranty so I took it to the top rated appliance repair shop locally. He changed out every gear and said he simply couldn't fix it and he's had this issue with others exactly like mine. I have this gorgeous, expensive mixer and it's basically junk! What's up Kitchen Aid?? I have tons of attachments and I'm really concerned about diving into another one but I feel stuck! HELP!

Underpowered and a low quality build

I bought this 2 months ago and already had to replace it in a month, because the head is wobbly and the motor is dying out. The motor is quite weak so expect to make not more than a 2 pound bread if the dough is quite moist. It is my second machine and I'm already having issues with the Spiral Dough Hook being stuck in the Beater Shaft. I would not mind having it replaced regularly and the guarantee does get renewed, but it is quite a hassle and I will probably return to Costco very soon.

Marvelous Machine

I bought this stand mixer as an upgrade for my current stand mixer. I really just wanted it because it was bigger and it had more power. My other mixer is a Kitchen Aid and I love it. This new mixer is fantastic. It just operates so smoothly. I baked a cake with it and had my sister come over to try it out and she asked me if I had done something different to the recipe and I asked her why she said that and she said that the cake was really moist and it just seemed fluffier. I told her that I did not do anything different and it was the same recipe. I did not tell her that I bought a new mixer because she would have wanted my old one and I wanted to keep both of them because I like to bake! She did not even notice that I had a new mixer but it made me feel good that she thought the cake was even better than before.

"Champ" makes great bread!

I bought this to avoid burning up the motor of my Classic mixer kneading bread dough. I have used it several times, and it barely gets warm kneading for 10 minutes on 2nd speed. My bread is now much more fluffy, with less effort. I named it "Champ".

Not sure who designed this but it is the worst mixer I've ever used. I bake and make bread regularly so am not a rookie in the kitchen but I will not be sad when this appliance bites the dust. Incredibly awkward to add ingredients from a bowl to the mixing bowl without lowering the bowl, removing the mixing tool and then adding from bowl to bowl, Definitely not a fan of the bowl lift. And it is without a doubt the noisiest mixer I've ever owned and if you are mixing more than about 6 cups of flour it labours and heats up. Think it's back to Cuisinart when it dies.

Not what I hoped for

I have a small Kitchenaide mixer that has lasted for ten years so I purchased this one for my business. It is impossible to pour ingredients in without having to constantly lower the handle. It doesnt mix smaller projects and is terrible with buttercream. Butter gets flattened beneath paddle and not roomy enough to scrape worhout having to remove bowl. So sorry I bought this.

Love the 7 quart stainless bowl!

The mixer was a gift from my daughter. It replaced my 5 quart kitchen aid mixer that I have had for almost 30 years! My old mixer was still going strong, but was well used and not pretty enough to leave out on my granite countertop. The large capacity bowl on my new mixer is great for large batch cookies and bread making.

Quiet and very powerful.

So far so good. It has a lot of power and is very quiet compared to my old one. I wish it came with stainless steel paddle and dough hook. Apparently they used to have them available for it, but not now. I need parts that can be put through the dishwasher. This is enough of an issue for me to consider returning it, which is too bad because overall I really like the mixer.

Great Mixer

I really love this mixer, I upgraded from the Professional 6 qt. mixer that I used over 14 yrs. I use this mixer several times a week making cakes. Works great for double & triple recipes of buttercream icing...I have only had this mixer for 3 months & haven't had an occasion to try attachments yet, but I'm sure with the larger motor I won't have any problems.

I LOVE this mixer!!

This mixer is an upgrade from a 5qt KA that I've had for years. This model has more power and more capacity - just what I've needed for the recipes I've been working with. It does make some clicking when running; but, I didn't buy it for the quietness- I bought it for the power. Very pleased with this purchase.
