I will never buy any kitchenaid product again!

The hood came with the new house we built with Drees Homes. Various documented complaints about this hood not functioning properly were made, the first one of which was in the walkthrough. It had issues before we took possession of the house. Instead of replacing, they tapped it here and there and fooled with the buttons and it worked. They did the same thing again and again for the subsequent complaints. Now the warranty is over and they want money to even touch this. I would rather spend more money and buy a better product.

Finally a range hood that works!

I bought this unit several months ago as part of a kitchen renovation. I cannot say enough about this unit. If you are wondering if you should purchase I say YES. Having the ability to pull out the glass and cover the range is awesome. I don't get that grime on my cabinets. It has great spot lights down to the range. I love being able to push the glass back out of the way when not in use. Cool feature that when in use you can push the glass back and it auto shuts off the fan and engages when you pull back out. I am very happy with this product.

I'm remodeling an older home built in the 80's and was creating a modern clean look home. This range hood looks fantastic and has some really cool features. Everyone that comes and sees the house comment on this hood and how cool it looks and works. It would have gotten a solid 5 stars if the lights would have been LEDs.

Bought this and installed when doing a complete kitchen renovation. Installation went well and unit works great and is very quiet when operating. Read the installation manual before purchasing, as the fan section is completely concealed above the unit and you need to have the space available to loose for the install. Looks great when installed (you just loose the storage space directly above the unit).

Looks Great and Functions Well

The unit looks great in my kitchen renovation and functions very well. Controls are easy to reach and the slide out hood keeps it out of the way when not in use. Install for new construction should be straightforward. Mine was a replacement for existing cabinets and I had to rebuild the cabinet bottom as the install requires very precise dimensions for the receiving cutout. If you're considering this as a replacement, be sure to check the specs in the install manual to be sure it's possible and if you're not handy, you'll need to hire a professional for the install.

Love, Love, Love this hood

This hood is sleek and modern. When the fan is on low, you really have to listen to hear it! It does a great job. The down side is the loss of cabinet space above the hood. We like the sleek look so much better than a big, gawky hood and all those mechanical parts that make the hood work have to go somewhere. I wouldn't want the other type of vent hood after having this one.

We purchased this appliance at the start of our kitchen reno. We did not have a 36 inch stove before and this was perfect for our modern design. The unit is sleek and modern with great features. The only suggestion I would make for this unit is it currently fits between two cabinets. When you slide the top out to engage the light/fan, there is a potential for the cabinet doors to open into the side of the slide out hood. Rubber stops on the side of the hood will prevent scratching the cabinet doors.

This unit replaced a conventional over the range exhaust hood. We chose not to lower the cabinetry for installation as the appearance of direct mounting to the bottom of the cabinet where the old hood had been installed was excellent. Exhausting into the existing duct work was a breeze. We only had to add one row of tile to the top of the existing back-splash for a perfect appearance. We, and everyone who sees this unit and installation is very impressed. The function and quietness are superb.

AMAZING!!

This was the hood that came with my cooktop in my new house. I LOVE this appliance. It is so stunning over the cooktop and it is so darn easy to use...you just pull it out and the fan and lights go on automatically...you push it to close at the fan and lights turn off. You can set the level of fan and lights that you want so that every time you pull out the hood it goes automatically to that setting. GREAT Product!!!

I bought this a little over a month ago and it sat in the box until I had it installed. When it was installed finally I found out that the buttons that are used to turn it on and change fan speed, light brightness and timer were sunken into the the top of the hood. We had to use a pencil eraser or something to turn on. We called Sears service for repair and they came out and fixed the problem. They found that 2 small screws were missing from the button mount. The hood works great now.
