Professional delivery and installation is available for every product we sell. We would be happy to coordinate delivery and installation for you.

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. But if you're like most of us, protect yourself by purchasing inexpensive extended warranties when you buy a new product and save yourself big money in the long run.

Quality? Decals used for burner indicators!

Disappointed 1118 7/31/2019

I purchased an electric downdraft slide in range in November of 2018. This range is less than a year old! Love the way it cooks, but they used decals for the burner locations and they're wearing off. Called kitchen aid and they don't have anything to replace them. Terrible quality!!! I was told when cooking I'd have to remember which burner is which! Aesthetically it ruins the look for the top panel Unhappy with kitchen aid's response!

Love the range

BKjeepguy 7/19/2019

This is a very good range with many features that were a pleasant surprise. The wide viewing angle of the front glass is very nice and my wife is ready to use the convection oven. It also comes with an assortment of racks and water tray accessory. We followed the instructions on the vent piping and the fan suction is excellent. It is very strong on high speed, low speed is adequate for most cooking. Like others, we had little choice on the replacement of our downdraft JennAir.The install can be challenging, dependent on what you are replacing I suppose. It is about what I was expecting though due to the type of range and the feature of the downdraft so I was not surprised. If I was replacing a KitchenAid, it may have been easier. The downdraft piping can be installed low on the rear wall or in the floor near the back wall. You'll need about 4.5" from either side of a 30"w opening for sliding the new range in over the blower and the pipe whether in the floor or wall. My old range blower and pipe were to the right side but further towards the front and so we had to move the hole and pipe to the rear. I researched for details before purchase but was unable to find anything. Attached is a photo of the floor template. Notice the specifics on blower mounting and downdraft hole location. If done per this template, the new range will just slide right in at the end. You'll also need to make note of your electrical plug location. I had to relocate ours. Initially, the range stuck out about 4.5 inches. This was mostly the control panel but my wife wanted it further in so I cut 2" from the granite countertop. There was enough overhang in the rear (about 3") that I did not need to modify the inside of cabinet. Note that the trim kit does not exend befond the front control panel. This is something we elected to live with and is acceptable if you have a good cut in your countertop. We built a framework from PVC and covered in 2 mil plastic to keep the dust down. Also had a shopvac (with dustbag) running while cutting to suck up the dust. We covered the inside cabinets with plastic as well and put plenty of towels on the floor to absorb water. Used a spray bottle to keep water in the path while cutting. Before cutting, I turned off the breaker and verified power was off. It was a lengthy project but worth it. Take your time, measure twice and you should be ok if you are handy. I would not trust this install with just anyone though. We did notice a few stains (from cooked on food/grease) in the glass top the first week of cooking and we could not get them out. We were disappointed but ordered the cleaning kit specified in the owners manual. The stains came out no problem so we are very pleased. There was a strong smell from the oven the first few times we used it. It faded and then went away after about 1.5 weeks.

Awesome upgrade

Onidnar 7/18/2019

Love the unit, which replaced a 30 year old downdraft. The slide out rack is a very nice feature and the digital controls are easy. You can lock the digital controls, which is great because of having kids. However, within a month or so of installation the unit gave an error code about something electrical. We followed the directions online (reset breaker) and it happened again. The unit still works fine but the error code returned about a half dozen times over about 6 months. I finally called to have a tech come out. He said the code is common because the part related to the code goes bad. He tried to replace it but has to reorder because the appliance store he works at ordered the wrong one.

Exterior too hot!

Phillips1 6/20/2019

I bought two of these ranges. One is just fine. The second one, when heated to just 350 degrees, gets dangerously hot on the exterior. The cabinetry knobs adjacent to the oven are untouchable when the oven is operating. The KitchenAid hierarchy issued some babble about the temperature level that is allowed on the exterior of ovens and offered no explanation why the one oven operates correctly and the other does not. I intend to contact the Consumer Safety Organization regarding this problem as a small child or an older person's skin could definitely be burned by brushing against this appliance. The technican could offer no explanation why one oven overheated and the other did not.

Dangerous appliance. Do not buy!

Pam in VT 6/11/2019

The knobs on this appliance turns easily and have about a 1" play before the starter kicks in. I have found them inadvertently turned on with gas filling the house several times. KitchenAid is aware and says it is due to care and use and recommends i get knob covers. It is a flawed design. Also the cat walks on the panel and turns things on and off. Downdrafts doesn't work well either. I have had several KitchenAid appliances over the years and am disappointed they will not help me.

Self cleaning does not work

Cdn1960 5/13/2019

Purchased because of kitchen renovation. Was installed in island abt 6 months ago. Expensive to buy, costly to install. The Aqualift self cleaning does not work. Had a meat pie spatter everywhere, heavy grease on bottom and sides. Aqualift did absolutely nothing, even after repeated cycles. Still trying to figure out best method for cleaning sensitive enamel. The downdraft is a bit noisy, but it does a great job removing odours. Happy with all other features. Would not recommend this range because of hefty price, no self cleaning and complicated installation.

It's a beautiful stove; prime comment from friends

Bill Sorry it is mine 4/25/2019

Just received my Kitchen Aid last week. Did not know what to expect, since all I had was a front view of the range. It replaced my Jenn-Aire which I had since mid 1970's. My wife loved this stove. She has since passed away and I soon learned that I like the Jenn-Aire myself and was not to happy that the warranty company wasn't going to replace it with a Jenn-Aire. I was truly surprised at how well the Kitchen Aid (KA) fitted in my kitchen and how good it looks. I am not much of a cook but I think it will be quite an experience learning to be a good one with all of the built in features of the KA. To tell you the truth I think my friends are jealous and they would like to have one like it.

Terrible stove for baking

Musolf6491 4/25/2019

I bought this stove thinking it would be great to have a downdraft. Unfortunately the heat for baking is off by 20 degree, back to front, making it impossible to put in a 24 cupcake tin in the oven. Kitchenaid will do nothing as they say that different is acceptable. For me, it's not acceptable. Do not spend your money on this oven!

Replacement for 1984 jennaire stove

MrHusky 4/25/2019

I bough this stove to replace my 1984 jennaire electric downdraft range. The installation is a bit of a challenge but as long as you locate the duct in the proper area of the provided floor template it installs rather easy. New range comes with Pre installed 4 prong plug so you will need to have a ground wire. The electric cooktop heats up and boils water very fast. This was a concern because my previous stove took forever and didn't really allow for a rapid boil. I was hoping for some better electronics with touch screen and easy cooking settings. The range is a bit dated in the electronics area. I waited 2 years for it to be updated but couldn't wait any longer. Once I started using it I realized it does everything I need and have no regrets about purchasing it. If you want WiFi cooking and fancy additional gadgets you can buy the separately. I think kitchenaid is just starting to sell this items now. Haven't tried to clean it yet but will.just keep it clean instead of waiting for it to need to be clean. All in all we are very happpy with the range top and the oven temperature consistency. Most electric ovens have temperature swings of 30 degrees when cooking. Apparently this is considered normal. My oven swings about 22 degrees. The adjustment is very easy with the calibration setting. I added 5 degrees and used a kitchenaid digital WiFi thermostat. You won't regret it and there is no need to wait for the induction top model. If you enjoy cooking and require a downdraft range, buy this one. If you want auto cooking modes with a colorful touch screen and lots of useless features, but a microwave. Be well

Horrible product

allysonmihalko 3/31/2019

I bought the kitchenaid downdraft electric oven to replace a Jenn Air that I had. It was a very expensive range and I am very disappointed in the product! The Aqua Lift technology for self cleaning is worthless, it doesn't remove anything. I had a fairly inexpensive range in my last home and it's self cleaning feature worked much better. The Kitchenaid scratches very, very easily and is not durable enough for cooking with high quality cookware and normal use! Tonight I noticed something had spilled over at some point and ran down to the oven door, when I wiped it off the clear coat on the stainless door peeled off!! This range is very, very poor quality for the big price tag it carries!!! I will NEVER invest in a Kitchenaid product again!!

Cleaning the cook top

cooktop mad 3/28/2019

In my judgement you need to have more information on cleaning the cook top. Making the consumer buy the Affresh cleaning kit is ridiculous. It should come with the range and later purchase Affresh when you need more. Cleaning the cook top is a pain.

I have not used the convection oven yet but am very pleased with the downdraft and the roomy oven. I can bake twice as many dishes in this oven compared to my old GE. The ceramic top is clean looking and attractive but already has one small scratch. In general an attractive range.

Smooth top Oven

bdab 3/20/2019

I've had this range approx. 3 weeks, love it. It cooks very fast both smooth top and oven. I'm still learning about all the features. You can use one of the front elements either in single mode or dual mode. Good for when you have several small pots and need a third elements. Haven't use the downdraft fan yet because I opted for the vent less kit and awaiting it's arrival. Would definitely recommend.

Great features

bearkitten321 3/18/2019

When remodeling our kitchen, we partially removed the wall the stove was on, so we had nowhere to place an over the stove vent fan/microwave. This downdraft unit works great and doesn't block the view out to the pool. It is powerful enough to take out any cooking odors without too much noise.

Serious Problems: Quality Control Product Support

Trusting Customer 3/7/2019

I purchased a new Kitchen-aid stove KSEG950ESS, replacing a Jenn-air stove which was in service for approximately 28 years. This was for a rental property in which a young family, man and wife with three young boys and a nanny reside in Palo Alto, CA. On Jan 20th, 2019 the stove stopped working. As the stove was under a 1 year warranty we contacted our local sales person. As a result, there were three attempts to repair the stove by a Kitchen aid contractor. all three failed. This took 3 weeks. At this point I realized that either the repair team was incompetent or the stove had serious problems. After numerous attempts, I reached out to Kitchen-aid and they checked inventory and arranged to have a new replacement stove sent and installed at no cost. Great, I thought. An appointment and delivery time was scheduled for February 28th. On The day of the scheduled delivery I checked my E-mail to confirm we were on track and discovered the delivery had been cancelled. I called the shipping/installation company and they indicated that someone should have notified us of the cancellation. I asked. "Why was it cancelled." They said the stove was never delivered to them. I contacted Kitchen aid and Whirlpool replacements to find out when we would possibly be receiving a stove. All operators said they had no inventory and had no idea when they would be able to replace the stove. I contacted the company that originally sold us the stove and asked if they had a KSEG 950ESS in their inventory. They said no aand they could check up-coming inventory from their end. The consensus was that Kitchen-aid was having problems at the factory and they would not be receiving stoves until mid April. At this point I was obliged to have a working stove in place for my tenants. I decided to buy a new stove at our local Airport Appliance- any stove as long as it fit, was working and could be delivered on short notice. By chance, even though we were told over the phone that they had no inventory, I noticed a Jenn-air floor model, slightly damaged but working and opted for that. It was one of only two downdraft stoves on the market that fit our application. The Kitchen-aid KSEG 950ESS ( which failed after 7 months of service) and the Jenn-air JES1750FS (floor model). While we were at Airport appliance (our local supplier), I called whirlpool and the sales manager, spoke with them on my phone to facilitate the transaction. We were given an even exchange by Airport appliance. After two delivery attempts and two cancellations by Airport appliance we still do not have a stove. It is currently scheduled for delivery on March 9th. But I wouldn't bet on it. In conclusion, I have written 3 letters to Kitchen aid customer service detailing this experience and to date have had no response.

Ver nice upgrade from traditional ranges

Mjuser 3/7/2019

There aren't many choices for electric downdraft slide-in ranges. Unfortunately they are all expensive. I chose KitchenAid because of reviews on the other two brands. Funny they all are made by whirlpool but there are slight variations in quality and service. Anyway, I bought it with a 5 year protection plan from Home Depot ($395). If I don't use the plan Home Depot will refund 1/3 rd of the program cost back to me. So, hopefully I will get at least 5 years of trouble free use.

Great stove, solid.

Brady 3/5/2019

I bought this alomost two months ago and installed it myself. It took a bit of work, but I do love it. One thing I marked it down for is the glass top, I have to use stovetop cleaner on it after every use to keep it looking spotless...otherwise every little droplet of anything will be seen. Wiping it with the dish sponge just leaves streaks everywhere.

Great features

CJ27 2/26/2019

We had to replace the one we had. I like this so much better. The knobs are not easy to break as before. I love the convection oven in that it will calculate the temperature from the original oven temperature.

very disappointed

spreiter 2/9/2019

We purchased this range about a year and a half ago. I thought I could get used to it but I haven't. The burners take forever to heat and when you turn them down it takes forever to cool off. I cleaned the oven with the aqualift cleaning and it basically does nothing, I did it twice, to get it clean I would have to do it manually with the small blue cleaners that I clean the top with. The inside of the downdraft rusted before the warranty was up and I was told it was not covered because it was cosmetic, what a disappointment. We paid $2600.00 because we had to have the downdraft, what a rip off

Really nice features!

Kathy58 2/1/2019

I bought this a month ago, and still learning how to use it. The slide out rack is a huge plus. The digital controls on the top are easy to use, but you have to be careful about accidentally touching them while you cook. I shut off the oven accidentally before I was ready to. The appliance itself sticks out from the cabinets farther than the Jenn-Aire I had. The black top and stainless steele must be wiped constantly as every finger touch makes it look dirty. My husband bought the stainless steele, but I prefer the white finish. The window on the oven door is big and clear, and the oven is very easy to wipe and clean. The oven is very quiet in convect mode. The cooktop is hard to tell where to put your pan till you turn on the burner.

Nice looking costly to install is NOT easy

PNWREALTOR 1/28/2019

Its a little early to review, but so far so good. The install was the issue. The plug didn't fit and the electrician was frustrated with the support or lack there of with Kitchenaid. I have spent more hours on the phone than I can count. No one really knows what to advise when I called the tech line about the plug issue. There is not an outlet made that will be this exact shape. Therefore you will have to shove this plug into it even though the ground is shaped differently. It is so frustrating. I just hope it doesn't cause an issue.

Stupid setup, Horrible install experience

Jonathan1234 1/24/2019

It's a long story, but without major renovations to my recently purchased house, a downdraft vent is the only option. What they don't tell you about downdraft stoves is that they don't work very well. They also suck all the HEAT away from one side of the pans as well as the smoke/smell/steam causing pans to heat unevenly no matter how nice your pans are. And say goodbye to the convenient drawer under the stove. That's where the actual vent mechanism is. It's a ridiculous set up. Save the headache, and get a separate vent. In addition to the downdraft in the center of the stove screwing up how the pans heat, they don't tell you that the install is NOT easy. At least in our state, you have to have an HVAC person install the stove. BUT they don't tell you that until it's sitting in the middle of your kitchen in the dead of winter in northern Minnesota. HVAC installers are busy trying to keep the heat on for everyone and their grandma during this time. It took two months to get it installed. And it still isn't finished because it doesn't come with a finishing kit. And it doesn't lip over the counter like our old stove. An older model Jenn Air electric Downdraft that burst into flames one day while making dinner. Hence the need to buy this stove. I will say this, the Steam Bake and Quick Clean options are nice. As well as the convection conversion feature. But honestly, that comes on nearly every new stove nowadays. In fact, GE has racks that you don't have to remove to run the quick clean system. This stove, you have to clean the racks by hand. For the price, I'm not at all impressed. I'll be looking elsewhere for the rest of our appliances.

Excellent Range

Bill63021 1/21/2019

We bought this just a couple of months ago during a kitchen renovation since we were installing it in an island and needed a vent. The unit works great and having an ultra low on one of the elements is great. The oven also works well other than it has a new type of cleaning feature that uses water. The touch screen is simple to use other than very sensitive. When cleaning you cannot let your finger touch anything. Overall a very good range.

Beware: Dangerous overheating oven

barnes28 1/17/2019

We have had this range for less than three years. We really loved it, until it tried to burn our house down. Now on two separate occasions, the broiler element unexpectedly came on during the bake cycle, uncontrollably overheating the oven--which we noticed only when we saw smoke coming out of the oven. Thank goodness we were not out of the room. Be very careful.

Beauty and function!

ReidO 1/14/2019

I have had this oven for 3 months. It so beautiful with the new style handles and cooks as well as it looks. Boils water in record time heats evenly on the stovetop and in the oven. Cleans up easily and the stainless resists smudges Only observation, touch controls are very sensitive so I do make use of the lock feature to prevent accidental control operation. Highly recommend!

Not intuitive without manual

benmerrillpdx 1/9/2019

This range was installed in a home I just bought. The sellers left NO manual. I have been training my use of it on a hit-or-miss basis. Not an intuitive range.

Worst purchase Ever!!!!

Shawna186 1/8/2019

This KitchenAid range is the worst purchase I have ever made. I made this purchase believing I was purchasing a self cleaning oven. It is marketed as a self clean aqua lift range. Never did I think I would be the self cleaner, but I am. After the first time using the self cleaning feature, on an oven that was not that dirty , it became very clear that if the oven was going to get clean it was going to take a lot of work on my part. I bought a self cleaning oven, I don't want to get down on my knees with my head in the oven to clean it. I called KitchenAid to complain numerous times and was told I would have to write a letter to the corporate office . I wrote the letter and sent it certified mail . You would think that someone from the KitchenAid corporate office would contact me , but they have not. This range was not my first choice , and it was not the least expensive I could have purchased. I chose it because I trusted the KitchenAid brand. I thought it was a higher end range which I would enjoy for many years. Now I wish I never replaced my old range which was working and cleaned beautifully. I believe the KitchenAid self clean aqua lift feature is a fraud and a misrepresentation. THIS OVEN DOES NOT SELF CLEAN!!! I am now out about $3,500.00 dollars between the purchase price and the installation. And now I have to buy a new range that is truly self cleaning and get rid of this one. DO NOT BUY THIS RANGE!!!!
